Downtown: Food Drive
One of our favorite Sundays is here. Known around here as Kroger Sunday or Food Drive Sunday — we take a Sunday each fall, leave our worship gatherings spaces, and continue our worship as we shop joyfully on behalf of those in our city experiencing food insecurity. This year, our Food Drive benefits The Branch in Antioch. The Branch feeds thousands of our Nashville neighbors each month, distributing nearly 1.3 million pounds of food each year.
Practically what does this look like? After we worship and pray, we will leave our gatherings early with a shopping list in hand. Four grocery stores in the area have been designated as shopping sites; moving trucks and Ethos volunteers will be in the parking lot waiting for you. Using the provided list, purchase as much as you’d like — a few boxes of pasta, a bag of canned goods, or a cart full of groceries…it’s up to you! Please only purchase groceries written on the provided shopping list. The Branch has indicated what is needed for their food pantry,
Drop your bagged groceries by 12pm (11am at Monroe location) at the moving truck nearby — our volunteers will handle the rest!
