CHURCH CAMP

SAVE THE DATE

Sunday, July 20–Friday, July 25

Here’s quick peek from our first ever Ethos Church Camp from Summer 2024!

This summer, from July 20-25, we will gather for a week full of worship, connection, and fun! Camp will be open to 4th–12th grade students. Go ahead and mark your calendar!!

The goal of summer camp is to turn our attention and affection toward God for an extended period of time by putting away distractions and putting ourselves in position to watch Him move. God isn’t more present at camp than He is elsewhere, we simply make space to be more aware of what He is doing. Some things to look forward to include super sports, skit night, talent show, incredible worship, time on the water, crafts, devotional time with your age group, and much more!

Adults, we need you to come serve as staff at camp! College students, we need you to be counselors! Please submit a short application if you are interested in being on staff or a counselor; and please register (or have your older child register themselves) as a camper. We can’t wait to see what God will do!

Read through the FAQ section below; if you have any other questions, please email hudsonparker@ethoschurch.org or joelleerickson@ethoschurch.org.

Camp registration and applications are open!

  • Campers are 4th through 12th grade. Finished grade applies; for example, if you have completed 4th grade, you register as a 4th grade camper.

  • Counselors must have completed their freshman year of college and can be no older than 25.

  • Staff are adults who are Ethos Family Members.

FAQ

  • Camp Hy-Lake is located in Quebeck, Tennesse, which is about an hour and half southeast of Nashville. The beautiful campground is covered in rolling fields and wooded areas, and it’s nestled right on the Caney Fork River.

Camp Hy-Lake was established in 1931 by Jonas S. Coverdale and in 1985, the camp was sold to Harpeth Hills Church of Christ. Since then, through generous individual contributions of time and treasure (including significant contributions from other congregations), Hy-Lake has become a part of introducing Jesus to and deepening the faith of scores of young people across multiple generations.

  • Campers must have finished 4th Grade to attend as a camper; our oldest campers will have just completed 12th Grade.

  • If your student is in the 4th-12th grade (finished grade applies), your student will stay in a cabin on Hy-Lake property with same-age and gender students, along with two college-age counselors who have been background checked and vetted. There is a clear distinction between boys and girls cabin areas. The camp is highly secure with an electronic gate to enter and exit the campgrounds. If your child is under 4th grade and has been approved to attend as a Camp Kid, they will be lodged with their parent(s) who are on staff at camp in separate (and air conditioned🙂) lodging.

  • Your student will have a counselor with eyes on them at all times, along with several adult staff members who will be helping run the camp.

  • You are encouraged to drive your student to camp and drop them off, but if that is not possible, we will have options to get your student there. Details will come with that closer to time of camp. If you are a staff member, you are welcome to drive your car up on Saturday and leave it there for the week. There is safe and secure parking within the campground.

  • Please let us know and we will make all the accommodations we need to. There is a section on the camper application labeled “Medical Notes”. Please fill in all the information we need to know there. There will be multiple camp nurses on site to assist with any emergency or basic medical needs.

  • We have scholarships available and don’t want cost to ever keep a student from participating. When camp registration opens, we will have more information about scholarships.

  • We will send a detailed packing list with what to bring/what to leave at home closer to camp.

  • Unfortunately, no. As much as we would love to have you, we ask that you or your child commit to being at camp the whole week. This will help with safety and logistics as we try to give everyone the best experience possible.

  • Unfortunately, no. We ask that you do not come to camp throughout the week for safety and capacity reasons.

Of course, if there is an emergency, there will be an exception.

  • Camp Kids are kids who have a same-gender parent attending camp as staff. Camp Kids are kids who have just completed a grade between Kindergarten and Third Grade.

For the safety of all kids — and because of the the rigorous schedule of camp, children under the age of Kindergarten won't be accepted as Camp Kids or permitted to attend camp.
