PRAYER
Devote yourselves to prayer…
COLOSSIANS 4:2
We believe that prayer is crucial to the health of a church, and that every good fruit in both the personal devotional life and the outward ministry of the body of Christ is birthed in prayer. Listed below are several options to grow your prayer life both individually and corporately in community.

Every Sunday evening at 5pm at the Ethos Office, Prayer Gathering meets and exists to provide a space for corporate intercession with a goal of beholding the Lord. With purposes of engaging in intercession that is empowered by the Holy Spirit, as well as being established in the church's biblical identity as the bride of Christ, Prayer Gathering allows attendees to both learn how to pray and engage in prayer in a variety of ways.
Typically, the first Sunday of the month is Nations Prayer Gathering, focused outward on intercession for the nations. The second Sunday is Healing Prayer Gathering, with elders on hand to pray for individuals seeking physical and emotional healing. The third Sunday of the month is Community Prayer Gathering, with a variety of leaders and expressions of prayer. The fourth Sunday of the month is a more fluid harp and bowl expression, with prophetic ministry mixed with prayer and worship.
With several methods to pray offer each night, newcomers are welcome to sit and observe — or participate in leading from the front, small group prayer, and individual times of silent reflection and prompted prayer points. Scripture is often utilized, and tools are offered to learn to pray scripture effectively. Worship is a part of every Prayer Gathering as well.

Freedom Prayer is a biblically based personal prayer ministry designed to help recognize and resolve any hindrance that keeps someone from a close and personal relationship with God. This can look like strongholds from sin, wounding and trauma, false beliefs about God and personal identity, as well as entanglements such as addiction and unholy ties to people or things. It is also a ministry designed to help cultivate a deeper prayer life, with tools offered to promote abiding and communion with God. This prayer ministry is formative in the spiritual journey, providing opportunities to learn to tend the heart before God and grow in listening to him. Freedom Prayer sessions usually last around 2 hours; an individual will be met with a team of 2–3 people to help in the process of seeking God. Ethos Church engages in regular rhythms of prayer and fasting — during our Awaken season at the beginning of each calendar year and monthly on the first Wednesday, as well as other days throughout the year. We believe these rhythms of prayer and fasting are important spiritual disciplines to connect us to God's heart and his ways. Click here to learn more about prayer and fasting with our community.

Every Sunday following the teaching in our worship gathering, a Respond Team is available to pray for any individual prompted either by the sermon topic or with general needs and requests. At our Downtown campus, this team is located to the side of the stage; at our Hillsboro Village campus, this team is located at the rear of the gathering space. Respond Team members wear a Respond Team lanyard to identify them.

This prayer team prays weekly for any request given with permission through our Connect Form at Ethos Church. If you have a request, please fill out the Connect Form; your request will be covered by the intercessory prayer team, with follow up if requested.
This Intercessory Team is around 35 in number, consisting of pastors, elders and a team of seasoned prayer intercessors, who engage in the prayer culture at Ethos in an ongoing manner.

There are several core classes on prayer that rotate through our Grow Class options.
Ethos Grow Classes are formational and practical 4-8 week courses designed to educate and equip the Ethos Church family to live into our mission to Love God, Love People, and Awaken a Movement. Grow Classes teach participants Biblical knowledge and give practical tools for deepening our relationship with God, other believers, and those who do not yet know God.
Each class is designed for the purpose of (1) growing deeper in spiritual maturity and (2) going wider with our mission to make disciples of Jesus in all the nations.
Grow Classes are offered seasonally. Click here to check out our Grow Class page and see if classes are currently being offered.
