Over 17,000 Cups of Coffee Served

We partnered with four different local organizations, raising funds to support the good work they are doing in Nashville. Funds were given to the Nashville Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition for restorative dental work for women who have been rescued out of trafficking. Funds were given to Urban Promise to send 60+ elementary and middle school refugee students to summer camp. Funds were given to the Cookery, to add a bathroom to the training house, where 9 men who were formerly homeless live and are being trained to cook and to live out the ways of Jesus. And funds were given to Eakin Elementary to provide food for kids on the weekend, called Fuel bags and shade screens on the playground for children.

On October 1st, our church family partnered with The Branch, a ministry that serves the southeast Nashville community via a food bank. Our church family left the building and went to multiple grocery stores to buy key food items for those in need. Around 70% of who The Branch serves are in the refugee community, roughly serving 300 families each week (20 food boxes per day). We took three box trucks of food (300-350 boxes) to help replenish their stock for emergency food boxes.

47 Volunteers Served

On the evening of Monday December 25th, around 29 Ethos family members signed up to help set up tables, chairs, and decorations to seat around 200 people so that our neighbors experiencing homelessness could sit down for a warm meal and good conversation.  In addition, our church family supported the purchase of over 300 stockings, candy, and beanies, that were combined with gift cards that People Loving Nashville collected, so that those in need who are often ignored could feel loved, have something to open this Christmas, and be intentionally cared for in the name of Jesus.  Lastly, we're grateful that God provided a steep discount on the beanies and that we were also able to gift some to a core group of People Loving Nashville staff and volunteers so that they felt the love too!

Since 2019 Ethos HV has partnered with Eakin Elementary in a number of ways, most notably, Fuel Bags. Fuel Bags are bags containing several meals and snacks for students at Eakin elementary who otherwise would not have good access to food over the weekend. Once a month our church family helps to put these fuel bags together between our 9am and 11am gatherings and load them up to be delivered to Eakin Elementary. In addition, Ethos has also been a major contributor to keeping a food pantry stocked at Eakin that has helped to serve over 300 families in the community. For the past several years this has been where all of our Kroger Sunday purchases and contributions have gone.

3675 Fuel Bags Made Last School Year (2022/2023)

4550 Fuel Bags Made Last School Year (2023/2024)

130 students at Eakin Elementary receive Fuel Bags weekly during the 2023–2024 school year.

16,555 Fuel Bags made to date by Ethos HV.

Hundreds of games, clothes and toys were donated to the YES Christmas Store during the month of December. Parents who need a little extra help are able to pick out gifts here for their children.

“As a part of our birthday celebration, we were able host 12 church partners from 5 different countries here in Nashville. During their time here various members of our church family helped host them through meals, rides, shopping excursions, and encouraging time together. Our international friends joined our staff for a lunch hosted at our offices and our global guests joined us for Nations prayer gathering. This year our birthday offering went to support our Kingdom partners in Albania, Serbia, Africa, India, confidential Middle Eastern countries, and those in need because of the ongoing war in Israel and Gaza. This money went toward church buildings, transportation needs, discipleship training, and other strategic Kingdom initiatives.”

“We serve with Ethos Kids because we believe God is inviting us to create a safe and encouraging environment as these children navigate their early walk with Jesus. The kids in our class have shown us that God can work through anyone at any age. Their hearts are so pure and full of wonder. They deserve to have consistent reminders of God’s love for them, and we want to be a part of that.”

“We were thankful to be invited by Harpeth Hills to join their Jr. Summer Camp for 4th-6th graders this past July! The theme for the week was ‘All Things New’, and Ethos had 10 students attend. Through quiet alone times, guided prayer time, small groups, large group devotionals and connections with leaders, our kids shared that this time away fostered a deeper relationship with God and His Word.”

Ethos Students helped lead Neighborhood Power Up Clubs (VBS) in two different areas of town. Kids from our church family, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods, gathered in parks and front yards to play games, learn memory verses, hear Bible teachings and testimonies from our students.

“It was a year of firsts for Ethos Students! We had our first ever church camp where we got to spend a week connecting with God and each other in an undistracted, Spirit-filled environment. We also did our first ‘Faith Questions’ series, allowing students to submit anonymous questions about the Bible, faith, and following Jesus. We tackled topics like sexuality, hell, the problem of evil, and hearing God. Our high schoolers delved into how to study the Scriptures, getting equipped with Bible study tools and worldview lenses to help study Scriptures in its original context and from there apply it to their lives. This spring, we are reading A.W. Tozer’s Knowledge of the Holy, aiming to increase our intimacy with God through rightly knowing Him. We also got to serve our community alongside UrbanPromise Nashville, through Power Up Clubs (our neighborhood-style VBS), and through multiple small projects at our monthly Sunday gatherings. Our aim is to increase intimacy with Christ and love for the Word, all while preparing our students to be a witness in whatever vocation God has gifted them with. We are seeing this happen in our community and are excited for the future of the church in these students!”

6 College Specific House Churches

6 Large Gatherings Specifically for College Students

“We saw God meet our college students in a few beautiful ways. The first was creating a loving and encouraging biblical community for them within our church family. Many of them had been going to Ethos for a few years but had never found their place, and the college ministry helped accomplish that for them. We got to see our student leaders step in and foster God given gifts in some cases, for the first time. Lastly I feel like students have been able to start to feel equipped to go out on their campuses and talk about Jesus. I have seen the desire for their lost campuses grow and the students are hungry to learn how to share their faith.”

“In August of 2022 we started a house church with the expectation that we would start leading a group to foster a community for young adults in what to us was a new city. We pledged together that whether 2 people or 100 people showed up, we would be faithful and steward what God had entrusted to us. Little did we know, God was about to move in a mighty way. We outgrew our home before our first week when over 20 young adults joined our group. What we have seen God do over the past 2 years has gone beyond what we could have ever asked or imagined. We believe that the Lord has called our generation to “radical consistency” by showing up each week with the expectation that He wants to meet with you. The Lord is using Monday nights as a training ground for this generation. As we have consistently shown up we have seen 60-100 young adults weekly come to encounter Jesus, live in deep community, find accountability, and testify that our God is still alive and moving. We have experienced the Lord go before us in many ways and we truly believe that the Acts 2 church is in action. In the past year and a half we have seen people come to know Christ, we have commissioned people out to our nation and the Nations on mission, we have seen the Holy Spirit fall on people, and we have seen God walk people through the mountain tops and the valleys. God has done more with this group than we could have ever imagined.”

If: Gathering

“Ethos Women had several events this year at the Ethos Office. In the Spring, we had over 100 women attend a local ‘If: Gathering’, a worship night in the Fall, and ended the year with a Christmas brunch for over 60 women. In between, we also had monthly Patio Parties and numerous women’s House Churches meeting together. We are striving to connect our women more and more, through community, worship and teaching. I’ve heard so many stories of how women have connected and developed new friendships by attending these events. We are excited to continue to encourage and develop deeper relationships with the women at Ethos.”

“This lovely group of people desires to live out the second half of life with purpose.  One of the wonderful things about our house church is the dialogue that goes on when we meet.  Most of the members are long time Christians and are not afraid to speak up and share their perspectives and the ups and downs of their personal journeys.  This provides such meaningful and rich discussion which is truly a blessing!”
